Old-fashioned Innovation

Old Fashioned Innovation

How exactly would you describe “Old-fashioned Innovation”? I use Sutton Bank for my HSA health insurance account and they apparently pride themselves on the term.

One thing is for sure – old-fashioned isn’t always the most efficient.

When I opened the account and filled out all of the necessary paperwork, one option they offered was to “save the environment” by electing to receive digital statements via e-mail. I’m from Oregon. Plus I really have no use for extra statements lying around my house, so I naturally opted in and elected to avoid printing and mailing the statements. That potentially could save a lot of trees, right?

Well not necessarily.

Every month I get a statement e-mailed to me, but it is first printed out onto paper, scanned, and uploaded as an attachment! I mean really? This image above is part of an actual statement I received.

So much for saving that tree. Perhaps the term “Old-fashioned Innovation” is an oxy-moron.

That’s awesome, I love people who pretend to “save the planet” to get more clients/customers
