(2) of us (1) big adventure

This is a little post honoring a great man who lived with love and passion.

Yesterday was one of the most difficult days of my life as I publicly gave tribute at the memorial service of my own father. I love him, miss him, and will live in such a way to make him proud.

I find that the words of this sympathy card my mom received to be reverently accurate:

We all need a time to grieve -
Quiet time for reflection
To sift through memories
And come to grips
With what has happened.

We all need a time for tears,
Not for the one who is now
At peace in heaven,
But for ourselves as we realize
That things will never be the same.

We all need a time to just ‘be’,
When we can open ourselves to God
And let the reassurance
Of his everlasting love
Start to heal our broken hearts.
